Geo Search

The Apache Solr for TYPO3 CMS extension currently does not support geo search, but it seems to be a good addition for scenarios like store locators or similar.

Components for geo search are:

  • Querying Solr
  • Indexing of geo coordinates data, index schema modifications
  • UI to select a search bounding box / search radius
  • Input method to set the visitors own geo position, f.e. GeoIP
  • API to use different map services f.e. Google Maps, Open Street Maps, Bing and more
